Dr. Vandana Nadig Nair
Chief Executive Officer & Co-Founder
Armed with a Ph.D. in Industrial / Organizational Psychology from Central Michigan University, USA and some teaching and consulting experience, I returned to India and did the ‘corporate’ thing – first with Hindustan Unilever Limited in various roles in HR and then headed HR for a young IT company. Entrepreneurship called and hence I set up CoCoon (www.cocoonconsulting.com) in 2000 to support small, medium and large organizations in their growth and transformation from a strategic talent management and development perspective. Early consulting work with various social sector organizations led to the birth of Phicus in 2012 (www.phicus.org), an organization which focuses on building capacity in social sector organizations and leaders.
ElderAid Wellness happened in response to a growing need within my own extended family that I saw – Elder aunts and uncles in Bangalore with children in other cities / countries who needed help / support; Children who travelled as frequently as once a month to tend to their parents; and worry on all sides. It is our aim to be the ‘proxy child’ and support seniors in fulfilling all their needs and aspirations!
As for the rest of me – I am a mother of two beautiful girls; I avidly read and dance and teach Mohiniattam, a classical Indian dance form.
